Harare – Runners will gather at the Museum of African Liberation on 9 August 2026 to mark Zimbabwe’s Heroes Day through the Heroes Half Marathon, a new sporting tribute to the country’s liberation heroes.
The event, launched through a partnership between Mr Pace Athletics Club and the Museum of African Liberation, will start at 6:00 AM under the theme “Run The Experience”. Organizers say it combines athletics, health, and community spirit to honor Heroes Day.
Three distances are open to all fitness levels: 5KM Fun Run, 10KM Race, and 21KM Half Marathon. All participants will receive event t-shirts and finisher medals.
Registration costs US$20 and is open online: https://onlinetickets.hypenation.co.zw/HeroesHalfMarathon2026?utm_source=chatgpt.com.
Organizers expect runners from across Zimbabwe and beyond to join the inaugural event.
