Belvedere Campus Marks Suneagles’ 11th Year with Grade 1 Relaunch and Expanded Special Needs Support

Harare – As Suneagles Junior & Nursery School approaches its 12th year, the Belvedere campus is relaunching Grade 1 for January 2027 and widening support for learners with special educational needs.

The school, founded by Madam Dorcas Chamatunhu, has built its model around small classes, a Christian ethos, and learning that goes beyond the textbook. At Belvedere, children from 12 months in Baby Class through to ECD B now have a pathway into Grade 1, with extra activities in swimming, computers, art, music, baking, gymnastics, theatre and public speaking.

This year Suneagles is also opening limited places for learners with Special Needs, with a focus on autistic children and those with delayed speech and ADHD. The aim is to create a structured, nurturing environment where each child’s progress is tracked closely.

“We identify and nurture talent in a clean, safe space where children are loved and challenged,” said Madam Dorcas Chamatunhu, Principal, Director and Founder. “Our goal has always been to lay a strong foundation academically, socially, and spiritually, so that every child can fly to the sun like eagles.”

The Grade 1 relaunch comes with an early-bird incentive for parents who enrol before August, and places remain strictly limited to maintain the school’s 1:15 teacher-pupil ratio. Weekly boarding, transport, meals and educational trips continue to be part of the offering.

Suneagles also operates a second campus in Budiriro Cabs, opened last year, which currently serves classes up to ECD B.

“We’re not just adding a Grade 1 class,” Madam Chamatunhu said. “We’re extending the Suneagles standard of care to more families, and making sure children with different learning needs have a place to thrive.”
