ZRP Exposes 55 Convicted Drug Offenders as Crackdown Intensifies

HARARE — The Zimbabwe Republic Police has published the names of 55 people recently convicted and sentenced for drug-related offences, with prison terms ranging from four months to 51 months, in its latest push to deter trafficking and possession.

In a press statement dated 21 May 2026, the ZRP said the “name and shame” list covers offenders arraigned before courts across the country for unlawful possession of Crystal Meth, dagga, Broncleer Cough Syrup, unregistered medicines, and smoking dagga.

The list includes several Harare residents convicted for Crystal Meth possession. Kudakwashe Mutizwa, 37, of Overspill, Epworth, received 18 months. Tanaka Mazara, 27, of Old Highfields, was sentenced to 16 months. Pride Mudyanadzo, 36, of Glenview, got 12 months. Kudakwashe Jowa, 32, of Mufakose, and Nigel Mubaiwa, 25, of Glen Norah A, each received 12 months for Crystal Meth possession. Gwinyai Nyandoro, 36, of Matapi Flats, Mbare, was sentenced to 15 months for Crystal Meth. Blessing Kamuzunga, 21, of Stoneridge Park, got nine months. Terrence Rongai, 24, of Marondera, received 15 months. Kila Busili Mamudu, 62, of Marimba Park, Harare, was sentenced to three years for Crystal Meth. Gilbert Matimwa, 35, of Unit M, Seke, Chitungwiza, received 36 months for unlawful possession of Crystal Meth.

For dagga offences in Harare, Kudakwashe Chingani, 28, of Mbare, and Makanyara Sibanda, 45, of Budiriro, were each sentenced to four years. Emmanuel Chirimuta, 25, of Matapi Flats, Mbare, got 12 months. Sydney Chingarande, 30, of Overspill, Epworth, received three months. 

In Bulawayo, Brian Siziba, 31, received the longest sentence on the list: 51 months for unlawful possession of dagga, Crystal Meth, and unregistered medicines.

Khumbulani Nyirongo, 32, was sentenced to 24 months for smoking dagga. Nqobizita Moyo, 31, of Kilarny, received 20 months for possession of Broncleer Cough Syrup.

Other Bulawayo convictions include Kupakwashe Mutemeri, 23, of Cowdray Park, 12 months for dagga; Alex Tapera, 25, of Makokoba, 12 months for dagga; Khayalethu Ntutha, 29, of New Magwegwe, 18 months for dagga; Lynne Makomeke, 24, of Woodvile, 18 months for dagga; Talent Shato, 28, of Makokoba, 12 months for dagga; Tonderai Chigumira, 41, of Fusire Flats, 12 months for smoking dagga; Wilson Karase, 40, of Binga, 12 months for dagga; Nobhukosi Dzamunetsa, 29, and Sikhuliwe Daka, 30, both of Harrisvale, 12 months each for dagga.

Additional Bulawayo offenders include Noleen Nyathi, 39, of Old Lobengula, 12 months for dagga; Moyo Prince, 37, of Pumula East, 12 months for dagga; Clemence Mathe, 24, of Makokoba, for unlawful possession of dagga; Tafadzwa Kwashiri, of Sizinda, 12 months for dagga; Keitumetse Ncube, 27, of Pumula East, 12 months for dagga; Kwenzakele Dube, 34, of Pumula East, 12 months for dagga; and Modreck Ruhonde, 30, of Pumula North, five months for unregistered medicines.

Elsewhere, Tafadzwa Saruchera, 41, of Unit A, Chitungwiza, was sentenced to 12 months for dagga. Godfrey Kasipo, 42, of Chishawasha Hills, Harare, received 18 months for Broncleer Cough Syrup. Timothy Takavingwa, 23, was sentenced to six months for smoking dagga.

Delight Mapfumo, 23, of Douglasdale, Bulawayo, got 12 months for unlawful possession of unregistered medicines. Tinashe Madeke, 30, of Concession, received 18 months for Broncleer Cough Syrup. Prudence Kudakwashe, 33, of Kalimachafi Farm, Banket, got 12 months for Crystal Meth.

Lovemore Gauti, 65, of Westernridge Farm, Banket, received 12 months for dagga. Natasha Chihwowa, 24, of Hopley Farm, Harare, was sentenced to three months for dagga. Mavis Mateya, 23, of Chinamano Extension, Epworth, got 12 months for Crystal Meth. Edmond Mara, 52, and Sharon Sidhuma, 30, both of Glenorah A, Harare, received 20 months each for possession of Broncleer Cough Syrup and Astra Pain Cough Syrup.

Sinqobile Ngwenya, 32, of Payentepe Village, Guyu, was sentenced to 12 months for dagga. Solomon Moyo, 22, of Marupi Village, Gwanda, got four months for dagga. Pinky Ncube, 30, of Killerney Business Centre, Filabusi, received 12 months for dagga.

Siwinile Zondo, 47, of Nyezi Village, Filabusi, also got 12 months for dagga. In Wedza, Dadirai Chibi, 45, of Bhuka Village, received 24 months for dagga. Gladys Jokonya, 23, and Wadzanayi Zinyama, 40, both of Mapfanya Village, were sentenced to 12 and 24 months respectively for dagga.

Tatenda Kazembe, 24, of Samaneka Village, Wedza, got 24 months for dagga. Munyaradzi Simari, 45, of Rujeko, Marondera, received 12 months for dagga. Munyaradzi C Chinyani, 41, of Chivhu, was sentenced to 16 months for dagga.
