HARARE – Hyatt Regency Harare The Meikles will host a week-long series of cultural and culinary events from 23 to 29 May 2026 to mark Africa Day, inviting guests to experience the continent’s traditions, flavours and hospitality.
The programme forms part of Hyatt’s Africa-wide Africa Day celebrations across participating hotels. At the Harare property, events will begin on 23 May with an Africa-inspired cultural experience showcasing stories, creativity and traditions from across the continent.
On 24 May, the hotel will hold an African-themed “Lazy Breakfast” featuring dishes inspired by flavours from different regions. The celebrations peak on Africa Day, 25 May, with a welcome experience that includes traditional dance performances and local refreshments such as maheu and African teas. A specially curated African breakfast will follow.
The programme concludes with an African-themed dinner buffet on 28 May, offering guests a culinary journey through regional dishes designed to highlight the diversity and shared connections across Africa.
To complement the events, the hotel has launched an “One Africa” package for stays between 20 and 29 May 2026. It includes accommodation, breakfast, curated African welcome amenities and access to the Africa Day programme.
Hyatt is also running a continent-wide offer for World of Hyatt members, with up to 25% savings and complimentary breakfast at participating hotels. Bookings are open from 18 May to 31 July 2026 for stays through 31 October 2026.
