Students tour IT, HR, Sales and Labs at Seedco’s Stapleford HQ during half-day career mentorship program
HARARE — Seedco’s Stapleford premises buzzed with energy on Tuesday as dozens of students explored every department during the company’s inaugural Career Guidance Day. From IT and Human Resources to Sales and the Labs, the students gained firsthand insight into the careers that drive Zimbabwe’s agriculture and seed industry.
The half-day initiative, hosted by Seedco Zimbabwe — a leading certified seed company — aimed to expose students to real workplace opportunities and help them make informed choices as they plan for life after school.
Seed Co Managing Director, Felistus Ndawi -Gurajena, has encouraged students to stay focused and motivated as they explore various career paths.

Speaking at the company’s inaugural Career Guidance Day, Gurajena told the students, mostly children of employees and bursary recipients, that their background does not limit their potential.
“Your starting point does not determine your finishing point. What matters is your mindset, your effort, and your willingness to learn and grow,” she said.

The event aimed to expose students to various career opportunities, showcasing roles in research, agronomy, engineering, finance, marketing, and more. Gurajena urged attendees to be curious, open-minded, and intentional about their future, emphasizing qualities like discipline, hard work, and integrity as keys to success.

“You are capable of more than you think,” she said, encouraging students to maximize their potential and opportunities.
Seed Co’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives were highlighted, including the Student Bursary Program, which supports 37 students from primary to tertiary level. The program aims to eradicate poverty and promote self-reliance. Other initiatives include the 85th Anniversary Scholarship Program and O-Level exam fee assistance for 9 students.
Dr. Danmore Chinsala, a beneficiary of Seed Co’s CSR program, is now the company’s doctor and serves as an inspiring example of the impact of the program. “I am happy that Seed Co enabled my dream to come true,” he said, crediting the company for his success.
Chinsala spoke at the Career Guidance Day, sharing his story and educating students on health and sexual issues.
