Mister Africa International 2023 first runner-up Future Nyoni set to shine again as he will be representing Zimbabwe at the 12th edition of Mister Africa International pageant to be held in Sierra Leone this December.
” Mister Africa InternationalZimbabwe is Future Nyoni, the reigning Mister Africa International first runner up 2023”, Mister Africa International Zimbabwe director Tapiwanashe Rubaya announced recently.

‘ ‘Mr Nyoni is a not a newbie in the competition as he represented the country last year during the virtual competition and he excelled well as he was coronated the 1st runner up of Mister Africa International’ ‘, Rubaya revealed.
39-year-old Future Nyoni works as a registrar general at the ministyr of Home Affairs. Rickie Osaze from Nigeria currently holds the prestigious title of Mister Africa International, succeeding Mathieu Bibasso of Cote d’Ivoire, who made history as the first French-speaking winner of the competition. Rickie triumphed over contestants from 29 other nations to claim the crown.
Since its inception in 2012 at the African Center in London, the Mister Africa International has evolved into a vital platform for male models across Africa and its diaspora. It offers them the invaluable opportunity to serve as ambassadors for the initiative, which is dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship in Africa through education and innovation.
Over the years, the competition has welcomed representatives from more than 40 countries, gracing iconic cities such as London (UK), Luanda (Angola), Ibadan (Nigeria), Lagos (Nigeria), and Abidjan (Cote d’Ivoire).
The list of distinguished winners includes Emmanuel Umoh, a former Big Brother Housemate who became the first Nigerian to claim the title, Akol Dok from South Sudan, a prominent figure featured on CNBC, who garnered recognition from his country’s highest offices and spearheaded educational infrastructure projects. Additionally, there’s Ian Wordi from Ghana, now a thriving actor, and Calisah Jiwa from Tanzania, renowned as one of East Africa’s foremost entrepreneurs.
The Mister Africa International, through its far-reaching initiatives, has successfully raised an impressive sum of over $100,000 USD for its various causes. These endeavors encompass providing scholarships for children in Eastern Nigeria and ensuring that children in Accra have access to quality footwear.
” Due to his well proven and tested record,Mister Africa International Zim organisers believe in giving him another opportunity to physically participate in the event”, said Rubaya.

Future Nyoni ,born in Hwange and now based in the Majestic town of Victoria Falls popularly known as the natural wonder of the world is married and a father of one .
He represented the country at a regional pageant that was held virtually from the 9th to the 19th of October 2023. A total of 30 African countries managed to take part in the modeling pageant which had the biggest number ever of candidates since it was launched in 2012.
Reigning Mister Africa International Zimbabwe is the co-founder of Nambya Development Organisation Trust, co-founder of Party Haven Events & Supplies and Beauty Galaxy Organisation, a charity organization that aims at creating a poverty free society especially for orphans, the elderly and disabled in the society.
Nyoni is using his title (Mister Africa International runner up)to work with his community in different charity and community work and also to continue participating in international runway fashion shows.
For him ,modeling is everything. It means expressing his thoughts and feelings on the ramp, during a commercial shoot and in life in general. Nyoni’s professional modeling career started in 2017 at Open Eye Studios run by Samantha Tshuma, former Miss Zimbabwe.
He holds the following titles, Victoria Falls Runway King 2022, Best Zim Male Runway 2020, Most Photogenic 2020 , reigning Mr Senior Zim 2022, First runner up Mister Africa International and (Best Dressed Gentleman award (at Mister Africa International 2023).
Future Nyoni has participated at the Beautiful You African Fashion show in Malawi, The Global African Fashion Coalition in Nelspruit, Empumalanga in South Africa. He has showcased designs by Afro phoenix(Zimbabwe),Zado fashions from Tanzania; Lele’s creations and Black Shoulder from South Africa and Tribal Trends by Shiko Onyango from Kenya.
In 2024 he participated at Edgars Zimbabwe Extravaganza fashion show in Bulawayo.
Through mentorship of former Miss Zimbabwe, Samantha Tshuma, who is his role model and regards as a Queen with a loving heart, he has learnt to never give up, face all challenges until one conquers without fear.
Meanwhile, Rotary Club Victoria Falls where Future Nyoni recently joined at the end ofAugust is appealing for assistance to put the roof back at Detema Secondary School in Dete.
Materials required are 256(36×4) cromadek, 64 cromadek cranked Ridges, 12(76×38×6m. brandering), 5kg( 4 inch nails), 2kg ( 3 inch nails) and transportation of materials to Dete.
The Rotary Club of Victoria invited the community to partner with them and put the roof back at Detema Secondary School in Dete. Since 3 classroom blocks at the school had their roofs blown off by storms last December, the chidren have been learning in the open.
”Help us bring back dignity to the school as we source materials for the roofing. We are humbly appealing for donations and every contribution is welcome’ ‘, Rotary Club Victoria says.
