SRC and ZC impasse broken


Sports Recreation Commission (SRC) has revealed that the deadlock between them and suspended Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) led – Tavengwa Mukhulani board has been broken, Thursday .
In a press release titled “TAVENGWA MUKUHLANI AND OTHERS V SPORTS AND RECREATION COMMISSION AND OTHERS CASE NO.34119(RESOLUTION OF ZIMBABWE CRICKET DISPUTE)”, SRC highlighted that they have settled the matter with the parties thereto, including the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Arts and Recreation agreeing to act on an Order of Consent.
The ZC suspended board had earlier on the 24th June 2019 as applicants in the matter, being Directors of ZC appealed to the Adminstrative Court of Zimbabwe in terms of Section 32(1), of the SRC Commission Act , against the decision of the SRC to suspend them as Directors.
As the tiff has been resolved, the Adminstrative Court will issue an Order which will have effect, inter lia of lifting the suspension of the Directors of ZC, as well as the Acting Managing Director thereof.
Conversely and, and upon such issuance , also the Adminstrative Court, the interim committee appointed in terms of Section 30(2) of the aforesaid the Act, and including the interim Managing Director shall cease to be responsible for the affairs of ZC.
The effective date of these respective occurrences shall be the date of the issuance of the Consent Order by the Registrar of the Adminstrative Court of Zimbabwe.
