HARARE – The State of Palestine issued a stark warning today, announcing that the death toll from Israeli aggression in Gaza has reached 71,412 Palestinians killed, with another 171,314 injured since October 2023.
The figures reflect a grim escalation even after a ceasefire took effect on October 11, 2025, which Israeli forces have repeatedly violated — resulting in 442 additional deaths and 1,236 injuries in recent months alone .
Ambassador Tamer Almassri delivered a forceful condemnation of Israel’s ongoing breaches of the truce, describing them as “flagrant” and “unacceptable.” He highlighted that Israeli settler violence in the West Bank has surged in tandem with military aggression in Gaza, creating a climate of fear that forces Palestinian families from their ancestral lands. In Ras al-Auja, north of Jericho, over 50 families were reportedly displaced after decades of residence — victims of settler militias acting with impunity, cutting off electricity, attacking homes, and terrorizing communities .
“The deliberate campaign of displacement and dispossession is a blatant attempt to erase Palestinian identity and presence in the West Bank,” Ambassador Almassri stated. He called for an immediate halt to all settlement expansion, an end to settler terrorism, and the release of Palestinian funds withheld by Israel.
The State of Palestine underscored that these actions threaten regional peace and stability, urging the international community to recognize the gravity of the situation and take concrete steps to hold Israel accountable.
In response to the Ambassador’s remarks, independent news outlets reported that Israeli forces have violated the ceasefire over 1,190 times since October 2025, including airstrikes, shelling, and raids that killed at least 439 Palestinians and injured more than 1,200 others .
These violations have sparked renewed calls for an international stabilization force in Gaza and increased pressure on Israel to comply with UN resolutions.
