Hatcliffe — Hundreds of ZANU PF supporters on Sunday braved the scorching heat at Hatcliffe 1 Primary School to receive feedback from the party’s just-ended 22nd National People’s Conference, in a gathering marked by energetic performances, party slogans, and calls for development.
Supporters, dressed in the party’s green, yellow, and red regalia, filled the school grounds as Chimurenga music boomed through the speakers, with youth, women’s league members, and war veterans leading the traditional chants. Local musician Sir Nato warmed up the crowd with his popular sungura hits before the formal programme commenced.
Proceedings were led by Harare provincial chairperson Cde Goodwills Masimirembwa, who opened the meeting with a message of optimism.
“This is feedback from the National People’s Conference,” he said. “Zimbabwe is heading for greener pastures.”
His remarks were met with loud cheers and ululation from the packed audience.
Taking over, the provincial vice chairperson presented a series of requests from community members, including urgent road rehabilitation, stronger measures against machete gangs, and enhanced security in the area. Each request drew enthusiastic applause as supporters welcomed the prospect of improved services.
Musicians Andy Muridzo, Enzo Ishall, and Sir Nato kept the crowd entertained between speeches, their performances prompting supporters to dance and sing along.
Excitement peaked when a convoy of vehicles announced the arrival of Central Committee member Cde Kuda Tagwirei. Supporters surged forward in anticipation as he made his way to the podium.
In his address, Cde Tagwirei outlined key resolutions from the conference, including the extension of the presidential term, economic empowerment programmes, and renewed efforts to eradicate drug abuse within communities. He assured supporters that government assistance would be forthcoming to address pressing local challenges.
His message was met with chants of “Pamberi neZANU PF!” as the gathering closed on a note of hope, with supporters expressing confidence in the resolutions communicated.
The meeting ended with renewed party zeal and promises of follow-up engagements in the coming weeks.
