Palestine Condemns Israeli Airstrike, Demands Accountability

The State of Palestine has strongly condemned the recent Israeli military strike in the Gaza Strip, which resulted in the deaths of over 104 innocent civilians, including 46 children and 40 women.

According to Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Tamer Almassri, this “ruthless military strike” is a “blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement established earlier this month” and a demonstration of Israel’s “utter disregard for human life and international law”.

The latest attack has pushed the death toll in Gaza to 68,643 since the commencement of Israel’s offensive in October 2023, which Ambassador Almassri described as “a grim reminder of the human cost of Israel’s relentless pursuit of violence and bloodshed”. The Palestinian government is demanding collective action from the international community to hold Israel accountable for its actions.

“We will utilize every available diplomatic and legal avenue to ensure justice for the victims and to end this sustained campaign of aggression,” Ambassador Almassri said, emphasizing that “the bloodshed must stop now”. The State of Palestine asserts its right to peace, security, and protection under international law.

The ambassador criticized Israel’s actions, stating that the country’s leadership “seems more interested in perpetuating a cycle of war and violence” and accused Israel of seeking to “subjugate and humiliate the Palestinian people”.
