Jamaican artistes Busy Signal and Chris Martin have promised an explosive performance at the Kadoma Music Festival 2025, taking place at the Odyssey Hotel in Kadoma on Saturday.
Speaking at a press conference held at a hotel in the capital on Thursday, Chris Martin assured fans that the show would be high-energy, intense, and unforgettable.
“I am thrilled to be back in Zimbabwe and can’t wait for the Kadoma Music Festival,” Chris Martin said. “Expect good vibes and energy – I leave nothing on stage. All the energy I bring from Jamaica will be on display.”
Chris Martin also expressed his openness to collaborating with local artists. “If the opportunity arises, I’d be happy to collaborate with local artistes,” he revealed. He cited his previous collaboration with Freeman in 2006 after the Together As One concert.
Busy Signal echoed Chris Martin’s sentiments, highlighting the joy of collaborating with talented local artists. “It’s always nice to collaborate with talented people,” he said, referencing his previous collaborations with P Square and Winky D on the song “Drink Up (Problems Away)”. He also emphasized his commitment to spreading positivity and consciousness, distancing himself from substance abuse.
Other artistes attending the press conference included Queen Feli Nandi, Freeman, UK-based Julian King, Confused, and Kurai Makore. The artistes expressed their excitement about sharing the stage with the Jamaican duo.
Queen Feli Nandi invited the international artistes to enjoy Zimbabwean cuisine at her restaurant, while Freeman described the experience as a dream come true. “I’m honored to rub shoulders with music legends from Jamaica,” he said. Julian King praised the show’s organization and thanked his fans for their support.
Confused and Kurai Makore also expressed their excitement about performing alongside international acts. Kurai, who is set to perform for the fourth time, promised to deliver his best performance yet.
Odyssey Hotel owner Tich Mharadze handed over the project to his children, Prince and Karen. Prince revealed that they had been working tirelessly for almost three months to prepare for the festival. Karen highlighted the festival’s success despite being held in a town, attributing it to its central location, which attracts attendees from Harare, Gweru, Kwekwe, and Bulawayo.
Alick Macheso and Winky D will also perform at the festival.
