Israel breaches truce, launch fresh attacks on Gaza

The latest resumed night strikes on Gaza by Israeli forces has breached the volatile peace truce between two arch-rival warring parties, putting into disarray progress on a ceasefire that had been tentatively agreed upon.

The renewed fighting is a heavy dent on any efforts to end a long-standing war in ravaged Gaza, making political stability in the Middle East appear a thickening mirage.

Latest media reports say Israel has vowed to unleash massive attacks on Hamas targets across Gaza.

On the statistics plane, Gaza Government media office says more than 62 000 have been killed in the war with 70 percent of victims being women and children.

According to the same sources, thousands are missing and presumed dead.
Medical sources paint a grim picture on “a larger number of children falling victim.”
According to Al Jazeera, Hamas released a statement accusing Netanyahu and his Government of breaching the recently penned ceasefire agreement.

The authoritative international media channel said the location of Khan Younis is among the worst hit by this round of attacks.
Israel forces continue to attack refugee camps and cities across Gaza.

Deir Al Balah, Shuy Jae, Netzarem Corridor and Rafah are the worst hit.
Israeli army wantonly shells its heavy artillery on north and central Gaza.
Screaming his unrelenting condemnation of events unfolding in Gaza,
Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Zimbabwe, H.E. Tamer Almassri said, “The State of Palestine condemns in the strongest terms the resumption of the criminal Israeli genocide war against Gaza, which has resulted in the perpetration of new horrific massacres in full view of the entire world. This brutal onslaught has claimed the lives of spiralling numbers of Palestinian civilians, the majority of whom are women and children.”

Israel seems staunch bent on applying pressure on Palestine as it has said the attacks are due to the delay in talks on the release of captives and Hamas repeated rejection of all proposals it received.
Israel Defence Minister tells the world that his army is resuming fighting untill all hostages are released.

However, the Palestinian Ambassador in Zimbabwe views this as a mega ploy by the Israeli Government in a desperate attempt to cling to power amid internal crises and corruption alerts.

“Benjamin Netanyahu’s decision to resume this war of extermination against Palestinians is a desperate attempt to cling to power amidst internal Government crises and his corruption cases, using the blood of Palestinians as a political lifeline.
These brutal massacres committed by the Israeli occupation army reaffirm that this occupation knows only the language of killing, destruction and premeditated intent to continue committing genocide against children and women as well as displacing Palestinians from their land.”

A further sign of insensitivity on already suffering lives is Israel’s bombing of Gaza’s only specialized hospital for cancer patients.
Amb. Almassri emphasizes that the continuation of this genocide comes amid the occupation’s ongoing policy of mass starvation against more than 2.4 million people in Gaza since the start of this war of extermination.

“The occupation systematically uses siege, border closures, and the cutting off of food supplies as a weapon of war to subjugate Palestinian people, in a blatant violation of international humanitarian law, which criminalizes the use of starvation as a weapon against civilians.”

Other nation states have voiced their concern over events destabilizing the Middle East.
Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Iran have all unequivocally condemned the latest attacks.

Qatar further called for a new round of talks while Iran’s foreign ministry says the US is directly responsible for the attacks.
In a statement seemingly vouching that position,
White House says Israel informed the U.S administration before it carried out latest attacks on Gaza.

Egypt, host to a series of talks on the war, signals restraint ‘so mediators can work on a permanent ceasefire agreement’.
Itself and Qatar both call for joint efforts to implement three phases of ceasefire in Gaza.

Last month Saudi Arabia rejected US President Donald Trump’s plans to take over Gaza.
In his fiery denigration of the stance by Israel, H.E Almassri fumes: “The State of Palestine stresses that the Israeli forces will not achieve any glory through war and destruction. Military pressure and brutal aggression will not succeed in breaking the will of our people, who will continue to struggle against this brutal fascist occupation state and will never leave or raise the white flag.

“In light of these horrific events, the State of Palestine calls on the international community, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), human rights and humanitarian organizations to break their silence and take immediate action to stop these horrific massacres, to end the aggression against children, women, and civilians, and to hold Israeli occupation leaders accountable for their crimes in international courts. The world cannot continue to watch this ongoing genocide in its various forms without real deterrence.”
In the heat of the revived attacks, Israel issued forced evacuation orders in several areas of Gaza, pointing to a sharp escalation of hostility between the two Islamic rivals.

Hamas, Al Jazeera notes, has called on the UNSC to intervene and call an end to the strikes.
More and more continue to lose lives as Israel resumed attacks this round.
In total defiance of the stance taken by Israel, internal strife breeds as thousands in the US backed state protest over breaking a fragile ceasefire in Gaza.
