British guest Erik Johnsen was delighted to tour around the village of Nzvimbo area in Domboshava during a visit with Kwedu African Village Experience and was endorsed by Kwedu Tourism as Ambassador and Honorary Sabhuku for a period of a year.
Kwedu Tourism which promotes the development of village community-based tourism initiatives and foster cultural relations across the globe appointed a guest Erik Johnsen as Ambassador and Honorary Sabhuku.
Erik Johnsen spent a day in the middle of the week on a village tour in Nzvimbo area known for its rocky mountains and breathtaking landscapes. He was in the country on a business trip and enjoyed the 100kms journey to feel the real Zimbabwe.
Johnsen who lives in Derbyshire and also a country side lover urges people to know both communities, rural and urban. ” People have thoughts that United Kingdom is London whilst some think Harare is Zimbabwe”, he said in an interview.
”I came here as a consultant in developing vocational training centres and has enjoyed mixing business with pleasure in the country”, he explained.
Johnsen also enjoyed the warmth and hospitality of Zimbabweans and felt secure in the city than in London.” I am a bit nosy in cities because I live in the country side but in Zimbabwe, I felt safe than in London”, he said.
He enjoyed the traditional meals that reflect the country’s culinary heritage. He also met the Sabhuku of the village who called him Taurai in an effort to make him feel at home.” I enjoyed the traditional meal, especially the beef stew. I also took sadza (thick porridge) with it”, he said.
The tour around the village had the activity of planting indigenous trees’ ‘. I was happy to plant trees as it is a good deed to nature”.

Johnsen was so excited by the experience that heconsidere to bring his wifeand children next time to enjoy the hospitality of Zimbabwe.
