The registration for the second edition of 2024 NetOne Albun Honde Valley Marathon has begun revealed the organisers at the launch ceremony in Harare Thursday.
The Marathon scheduled for 23rd of November in Nyanga District will see the athletes walking away with a total of more than USD 9 000.
Participants occupying the 1st position, across the 42km,21km and 10 km race sections will receive a trophy. All the participants who would have managed to finish the race line will also receive a medal.
The 42km full Marathon race, 21 km half Marathon race and the 10 km race is eligible for those above 18 years for both male and female and there would be a junior category for both male and female.
In the 42 km race, the 1st winner will walk away with USD 700, 2nd position USD 500, 3rd position USD 300, 4th position USD 200 and 5th USD 100 for both me and female.
1st prizs for the Veteran in this race is USD 100 for both male and female whilst the first prize for the Master category is also USD100.
1st prize for the 21 km race is USD 500 for both male and female winners. 2nd position prize is USD 300, and 3rd is USD200 for both male and female winners. In the vetearn category for this section, the 1st prize is USD100 with the Master 1st prize also USD 100 and also the Grandmaster category.
In the 10 km race, 1st prize is USD 400, 2nd 200 and 3rd 100 for both male and female winners. The Veteran, Master, and Grandmaster categorieshas 1st prize of USD100 for this section.
In the junior race, the 1st prize is USD 100, 2nd prize USD75, and 3rd prize USD 50.
Consolation prizes will also be given to the participants who perform well under the 5km category. Raffle tickets will be drawn and lucky winners will walk away with the prizes. A draw will be done for runners who register through One Money and the lucky winner will walk away with a 5 000 litre tank courtesy of Drip Tech.
Another draw will be made for all participants and the lucky winner will win an air conditioner courtesy of Nepro Air.
