After their defeat to Botswana’s Orapa United, Harare-based Dynamos FC bowed out of the CAF Confederation Cup, losing 3-1 on penalties, and they managed to pay the players’ salaries leaving the coaches empty handed.
A reliable source confirmed that Dynamos’ coach Lloyd “Mablanyo” Chigove did not receive any money after the CAF Confederation Cup exit in Botswana, however the players were paid their dues. “The players were paid their salaries but the coaching department got nothing”, said the source who did not want to be identified.
Lloyd Chigowe is the interim coach at Dynamos FC following the departure of Genesis Mangombe. In 2018, he was also roped in as the interim coach after the axing of Lloyd Mutasa. He saved Dynamos from relegation in the 2008 season only to be dismissed in 2019 after losing the first 3 games of the season.
The source said although Chigowe is disappointed about the situation as a family man, there is nothing he can do as he fear victimisation. It seems after serving as the interim coach, Chigowe will part away with Dynamos and find another team that pays him well. Usually Chigowe joins Dynamos juniors after being the senior men interim coach.
Meanwhile, Dynamos Football have suspended three members of its technical team following their disappointing defeat to Orapa United in the CAF Confederation Cup last Sunday. The suspended members include assistant coach Murape Murape, director of coaching Richard Chihoro, and physiotherapist Admire Pariyangiwa.
