It will be a hive of activity in Greendale, Harare where several pool teams will battle e it out for honours in the Carling Black Label (CBL) National Pool Championships Finals Saturday.
The finals which were postpned last week due to another Delta Beverages sponsored national finals Chibuku Neshamwari, a dance competition taking place in Zvimba has now everthying put in place in the capital. The hosts for the finals rotate in different provinces each year.
Last year, te event was held in Masvingo where 2023 Lindani Gumpo of Bulawayo and Patricia Ganya of Chitungwiza, a male and female emerged winners in the finals respectively.
DELTA Beverage said this year’s CBL National Pool Tournament will see the winner receiving US$2 500 and a pool table. The first and second runners-up are expected to receive US$1 500 and US$1 000, respectively, while the fourth-place finisher will receive US$500.
The National Pool Tournament has trageted 26 centres around Zimbabwe, with regional tournaments conducted across the country’s 10 provinces to increase the reach of the sponsorship. The tournamnet has been running for.over 10 years in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Pool.Association Association (ZPA).
The event will start early in the morning at 9am with a number of 64 females and 64 males expected to play.
