Braeside Residents Fume over Bogus Security Company

By Our Correspondent

Some residents of Braeside and surrounding areas have raised concern following revelations that a security company operating in the area may be operating illegally.

The said company, E-Sec Security is also accussed of deceiving residents by falsely advertising services that they later fail to offer and in some cases are non existent.

Residents who spoke to this publication allege that although the company claims to provide services such as home surveillance, armed guards on patrol and timeous reaction in case of emergency, no such services are being provided. Instead, residents allege that the company is more focussed on garbage collection than their stated core business, which is the provision of security services.

It is believed that the company owner, an aspiring council candidate who lost in Zanu PF primary elections during the last general election, is allegedly using his political muscle to expedite the registration of his company.

“We have been paying subscriptions for security services that they have been advertising but it seems as if they are not capable of providing those services This is tantamount to fraudulent activity,” said one irate resident, who declined to be named for fear of victimization.

Some of the residents have also claimed that the said company has been impersonating another security company operating in the same area, while collecting revenue under false pretences.

When contacted for comment E-Sec owner Mr Ephraim Chizola claimed not to know any rival security company operating in the area, that his company is said to be impersonating.
“I do not know the company that you are referring to, all I know about is my company E-Sec,” he said.

He also said that his company is fully registered although he failed to provide evidence of the said registration, while threatening this reporter with unspecified action.

Meanwhile residents have urged relevant authorities to take corrective action as they are being fleeced of their hard earned cash.
