New Curriculum Grade Three Book Erroneously States that Lovemore Majivana is Dead

There is an uproar frBom parents after a Grade Three Learners Book “Best Approach to Visual and Performing Arts” mentions that Lovemore “Majaivana” Tshuma is dead whilst his alive and kicking in United States of America.

Parents have vented their anger over the issue and has labelled the New Curriculum textbooks as mediocre. “What the New Curriculum has in store for us”, is the caption of the page circulating in WhatsApp groups.

Some parents were shocked that Lovemore Majaivana is dead whilst others said he is alive in USA. Others noted that Majaivana is in USA where he is now into gospel music.

An article from Newsdze Zimbabwe dated November 2022 says that he is coming out if retirement after loud public appeals Ashe had quitted music more than a decade ago. Parents castigated the publishers for not verifying first if the person was no more or not.

” New Curriculum KKK mediocre everything, they can’t even provide textbooks like what was the norm in the good old days “, posted a Glen-Norah parent in a WhatsApp group. The parent added that there was lack of research and the books were written haphazardly.

Lovemore Majaivana is said to have had a collaboration with Janet Manyowa recently. Lovemore Tshuma born 1954 is a Zimbabwean musician arguably the most popular Ndebele singer and by far the most prominent to come out of Gweru.

He earned the stage name ” Majaivana” which means good dancer for his exceptional dancing. He was active in the music industry from 1974-2001. He sang Pop genre being a singer and song writer.

Majaivana has several albums under his belt which includes Salinini Zinine (1984) and also Ezilomudu zikamajee (1984).

The “Chitima” hitmaker made a mark in the music industry with songs Umoye wami 1999, Badlala Njani 1999, Ngifuna Mali 1999 and Inkomo 2002.
