The National Electoral Reform Agenda (NERA) has announced significant progress in their mission to achieve electoral reforms in Zimbabwe.
In a press statement released Wednesday, NERA expressed gratitude to all political parties, civic societies, and stakeholders who have shown support for their cause.
NERA extended their gratitude to FORUS President Manyara Irene Muyenziwa, acknowledging her unmatched support and generous sponsorship.
“Manyara Irene Muyenziwa has been the driving force behind the success of all NERA activities, benefiting not only the organization but also the people of Zimbabwe”, said NERA Chairman, Joelson Mugari.
Since their inaugural meeting in November, NERA has been advocating for key electoral reforms including the demilitarization of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC), equitable distribution of ballot papers, transparent appointment of ZEC commissioners, and non-alignment of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) to any political party, among others.
NERA has expressed the need for other political parties and their principals to join them in pushing for electoral reforms.
The organization believes that the participation of all stakeholders is crucial in creating a level playing field and ensuring free, fair, safe, and credible elections in Zimbabwe.
