South African legend Penelope Jane Dunlop “PJ Powers” salutes mobile network operator NetOne Cellular for their sterling job in uplifting people with albinism ahead of her landing in the country Thursday for the NetOne sponsored Mr and Mrs Albinism Southern Africa pageant slated for Saturday.
The Mr and Miss Albinism Southern Africa pageant is first of its kind in the region and is an initiative of Albinism Dare to Dream Initiative (ADDI) which they partnered with NetOne as main sponsor. The initiative is a call to action urging individuals with albinism to step “Into The Light” and shine their unique personal light. The event aims to champion the right of Persons with Albinism (PWA), fostering awareness, recognition , and development for this marginalized community
PJ Powers in South Africa sent message commending NetOne Cellular as she is expected to land in the country Thursday and is among the artists to perform at the first ever pageant for PWA.
Renowned South African songbird PJ Powers appreciates the support NetOne is giving to people with Albinism in her message to NetOne Cellular. She is set to touch down at Robert Mugabe International Airport ahead of the big event this Saturday proudly sponsored by NetOne. “I want to thank everybody at NetOne Cellular for everything that they are doing for people with Albinism. I have been a patron of people with Albinism for many years and I have watched this brutalised and marginalized people rise up because of people like you. Thank you so much from me for everything that you have done”, she said.
PJ Powers aka Thandeka is the There is an answer hit maker. She also made waves with the songs Rightfully Mine and Thandeka. She first visited Zimbabwe in the 80s and in 2018 had some shows also in Zimbabwe.

An array of artists will perform at the highly anticipated event. Gospel gurus Minister Michael Mahendere and Baba Mechanic Manyeruke will share the stage with the South African musician and performer. Urban grooves duo Dino Mudondo and Willom Tight will also perform at the competitions.
Other artists lined up for the event are Mbeu, Royalkizze, Mangwenya Diana Samukange, Chipo Muchegwa, Willonair, TereyGee, Ba Troy, Soulbone Albinism Connect band and many more.
General entry is $10 US, VIP $35 US and VVIP is $50. Tickets are available at Wedding Centre, Harare Club Hotel and Galaxy Mall
