Sungura artiste Collen Timeo aka Wairemera Boss will celebrate his birthday at Joy Centre Machipisa, Highfield Saturday with an album launch later the same day at City Sports Bar in the central business district.
Kireni Zulu and Maskiri and various artistes will perform. The admission is free with revellers bringing presents for the Boss and buying drinks.
The Wairemera Boss will launch the album titled “Wairemera Sungura” and a Single track “Denga raShe”, with the latter being about real life experience and the main theme is about pressing the life on despite any challenges encountered.
Wairemera Boss and the Sungura Vibes will perform during the album launch supported by dancing outfit called Wairemera Dhanzi.
Hundreds of people from all walks of life are expected to attend the action packed event.
MC DJ Spark will be joined by ZBC radio presenters Leonard Katsangu Makamaradha, Nathaniel Ncube and Rabson Umari.
The guest of honour at the event is Elder Madzara the owner of Delma Printers a leading paper printing company based in Harare.
Star FM presenter Ndumiso Dube is likely to close the event in style. Timeo says he worked hard to achieve what he is today due to his social background.
“My journey as a musician coming from a rural background was not so rosy as most of the time the band I belonged to failed to be intact as band members sought other opportunities”, said Timeo.
The artiste was born at Nyabira Clinic since his father was working at Sandringham farm in Mazowe those days.
He was raised in Mudzi district and that is where he did his primary and secondary education.
Collen is also a holder of bachelor of business studies honor’s degree in marketing with the University of Zimbabwe. He is a freelance Marketer and Business consultant.
“The objective of this birthday bash is to make sure that a lot of people come , witness and support our electric performance as Sungura vibes,so we want many people to attend the birthday bash celebration at Joy Centre Machipisa Highfields from 2pm up to 6pm on the 19th of August”.
” Plenty of drinks and barbeque will be available before cutting of cake. CDs and band regalia will be on sale during the celebrations”,he said.
The Sungura singer said he recorded his first gospel project in 2015 titled “Namata Musiki” with six tracks, “Huni DzeGehena” also a gospel album with seven tracks in 2018, *Huni DzeGehena” DVD in 2019 and single track “Gonyera Pamwe” and now he has recorded three albums ,one single and one DVD.
He said in 2020 , he recorded the album “Wairemera Sungura” but was not officially launched or published on radio stations due to some pressing life issues.
So he is going to officially launch this album and a single track “Denga Rashe” on Saturday 19th of August 2023.
“As part of my birthday celebration and thanking God for the life He has given me, I have decided to rejoice together with my fans. And my fellow artists, radio presenters, producers and music promoters.
“In this album I will bless them with the fruits of the spirit that result in eternal life “, added Collen.
The album will be launched at City Sports Bar Saturday 19 August, a lot of people are encouraged to come in numbers to witness, support and celebrate the Sungura vibes from 7pm till early morning.
City Sports Bar is located at number 83 Kaguvi Street Queens Hotel Complex.
The cake will be cut at 12’Oclock midnight since Collen was born on 20 August but the event is starting from 19 August.
He also said he made this arrangement to remember his mother’s labour pains untill the time she gave birth to this multi talented fruit of her womb.
He emphasized that after Saturday 19 August 2023, he will start working on a new album to be released in December 2023 as Christmas Box .
Collen Timeo ministers through art as a phillathropist. He perfoms in schools around Mudzi district and he channels the proceeds towards payment of school fees for less privileged students and any other school developmental projects.
He has dreams to partner with various artists in fulfilling his calling to do charity activities using God given talents.
