Kings and Queens Grand Prix to Roar into Life

Bodybuilding and Fitness athletes who will compete at the Kings and Queens Grand Prix slated for Saturday at Zimbabwe College of Music will be able to qualify for an international competition, the Tokyo Japan contest to be held in September 2023 says secretary general Alec Jaure.

World Fitness Federation (WFF) Zimbabwe Kings and Queens Grand Prix Fitness Show which is a qualifier for the Tokyo Japan contest’s preparations have gathered momentum with the registration having started on Monday.


Athletes will battle it out in Men’s Novice Bodybuilding, Men’s Junior Bodybuilding, Men’s Sport Model, Female Sport Model, Men’s Jean Model , Bikini, Bermuda Model and Men’s Bodybuilding categories.


In an interview with Online Now News, WFF Zimbabwe secretary general Alec Jaure said In terms of qualification for the Tokyo Japan contest, the athletes with the best physique that matches international stage competition will qualify.


“It doesn’t matter on what position an athlete finishes on. For example the top six may all qualify or may all fail despite one being the overall winner. What we will be looking for is the best quality,” Jaure said.


He also revealed that everyone is eligible to enter the contest. “As World Fitness Federation Zimbabwe, we embrace all athletes from other federations for the development of the sport.

“We are not worried much about membership. So any athlete is welcome to participate at the Kings and Queens Grand Prix,” Jaure explained.


WFF organising secretary Actions Winya said the show will be an evening show starting from 1700 hrs when everyone is free to enjoy.


He also said the show seems to have a high attendance looking at the people calling asking about registration. “So far so good especially looking at the calls that I’m receiving now,” he said.


Registration which started Monday 19 June is at ACT Dynamic Hatfield, Total fitness Long Cheng, Fitness for her Highglen complex, ACT Dynamics Chitungwiza and also advanced tickets are available at $5 at all those branches.
