Zimbabwean cricket star Sikandar Raza is heading to the Major League Cricket (MLC) competition in the US after being signed by the Seattle Orcas.
He is expected too play in the World class T20 coming to America on July 13 ending 30 July,2023.The competition will consist of six teams, four of which are partly or wholly owned by existing Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises.
In a tweet on Monday, MLC announced that Seattle Orcas has signed Sikandar Raza.”Fireworks…Pending… Zimbabwe’s explosive all-round talisman is psyched to set #MLC2023 alight..Help us in welcoming…@SRazaB24 to the Seattle Orcas”, read the tweet.
Seattle Orcas also tweeted, “We cannot wait to see Sikandar Raza in a Seattle Orcas shirt”.
Grand Prairie Stadium near Dallas, TX will host the league’s inaugural match on July 13, MLC’s first premier stadium dedicated to cricket with a capacity of 7,200 seats.
An initial $120m is funding the project, which has some influential backers from the technology and media sectors and India, including Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, who is part of the Seattle ownership group.
The 18-day tournament, consisting of 19 matches and six teams.
