The Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) primaries are still on with some of its members questioning if the African nature of violent politics has embellished the party.
CCC, a Zimbabwean political party contesting for the first time in the harmonised elections scheduled for this year with the President’s previous inauguration dates in mind had nominations a week before and its members are waiting impatiently to cast their votes.
Scores of CCC members flocked their respective polling stations for primaries in anticipation of voting for nominees. “We had the nominations whereby a street nominated a person who will be voted for. The primarie “, said a CCC member at Zororo Highfield community centre in Harare on Monday.
Discontent has prevailed in African politics as CCC members have mixed feelings over the nominations with some citing violence and others not perturbed as the nominations does not mean the primaries are over.
