President of Zimbabwe, His Excellency Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa condemned rife bullying and drug abuse in schools and urged parents to teach their children on good behaviour.
His Excellency who was the guest of honour at the first inaugural ED Mnangagwa Business Summit 2023 at a capital hotel on Friday running under the theme “Enhancing Zimbabwe Economic Development Through Public -Private Sector Engagement For Prosperity”, at the end of his speech took the opportunity to address the issue of bullying and drug abuse in schools.
” Several cases of bullying in schools have been reported and are urge parents to teach their children to desist from such behaviour. As most of you are parents here, we would want you to educate and counsel our children to respect each other”, he said.
“We have numerous cases of bullying at boarding and day schools. There should be an end to this. We have also cases of drug abuse”, he added.
He said he has recommended that students abuse drugs should be arrested.”Kana mwana akastika pachikoro kandai mu Land rover . Kana apepenuka sungai munhu wacho”, he said in the vernacular.
His Excellency met and interacted with the business community as he sold out his economic vision for the country.About 16 private sector enterprises under the Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers (CZR) attended the event.
On his Twitter handle, President Mnangagwa tweeted “Retailers are the backbone of our economy. Today I spoke to the Confederation of Zimbabwean Retailers about how we can enhance prosperity with better dialogue between business and government”.
