Jairos Mutambikwa is to release an Amapiano with a Zim fusion single titled “Munotichengeta” , to be released end of January, this publication has learnt.

Mutare based United Methodist (UMC) gospel artist is starting the new year with a fresh product which includes the young generation through the Amapiano single he will drop.Music is very vital in evangelising the word of God so the Amapiano single draws a big crowd of the youth listening to the gospel music.

The philanthropic gospel artist has been named the Ambassador of Mutare through his good deeds in promoting Manicaland. After singing the song Jewels of Manicaland, he was then appointed Mutare Ambassador.

He has also helped the need with finances to have livelihoods. He has helped the visually impaired couple along Main Street in the Mutare CBD near Chicken Inn to have their music recorded. At a crusade, one time in Muzokomba Buhera, a 80-year-old man selling reed mats was gifted with two tubes and tyres for his bicycle to make the livelihood easy to do.

Jairos Mutambikwa wears many hats as he is a welder, panel beater and spray painter. He grew up a courageous person hence his philanthropic work because without courage one can not be able to help others.

In grade 6, at a such tender age, he helped a woman from being raped in Honde Valley where he was living although he was born in Sakubva high-density area of Mutare.

Although the gospel singer goes to UMC which abhors drinking of beer, he was a drunkard at first before he repented. He used to go to UMC as a young boy with his grandmother and that made it easy for him to settle at the church when he resolved to be a church goer.

“I do philanthropic work in my community and will keep on helping the needy. I helped and sponsored Elliot Oliver to record a Man Gidza tribute and also did the same to Casper and Memory Tsamiri to record a single”, Mutambikwa said in an interview.

He is still with his band members he started with in 2004 at UMC Sakubva circuit. He has three gospel albums and seven singles to his name since his debut album titled “Umambo”, up to his single “UMC History”, dedicated to UMC.

The Victory Melodies band comprises of him as the front man, guitarists Tawanda Round, Benjamin Matarise and Joseph Makureya while Joseph Sajero and Dutchie Namate are on drums with Tinashe Kufakunesu as the choreographer.
