Golden Eagles thrash Simba Bhora in Axis Solutions Super 8 Cup final

Axis Solutions Super 8 Cup was lifted by Golden Eagles who displayed superb soccer on Saturday at Rufaro Stadium as the Northern Region League champions Simba Bhora went down 2-0.

75th minute header my Ray Uchena put Golden Eagles on the lead before Aaron Zaka sealed the victory after stoppage.
Golden had the better of the second half as they kept piling pressure on Simba Bhora with a high position.

Hardlife Zvirekwi former Caps United player had a good day in office on the right back of Simba Bhora as he defended well and managed to pass it to the front. However, he was substituted in the second half maybe because he was playing too much basic football.

Golden Eagles Albert Nyamutsaka could have put his team on the lead of his shot on the left was not blocked by alert Simba Bhora goalkeeper Simba Chinani in the 26th minute.

Although the teams went on the breather all nil, the fans cheered through out the first half as the two teams displayed classic football.

Albert Nyamutsaka also missed a second chance with 2 minutes to go to the breather as his shot went away beating the side net.

After the half time break, Golden Eagles were attacking less although they managed to score two goals in the second half.
The match was a marvel to watch.

The late Simba Bhora midfielder Barnabas Mushunje was honoured posthumously as the Player of the Tournament, Golden Eagles Tadiwa Chibuwe was named Man of the Match whilst Coach of the Tournament went to Gilbert Mushangazhike. Top goal scorer of the Tournament was shared between Golden Eagles defender Raymond Uchena and Simba Bhora Tinashe Balakasi after both scored two goals in the tournament.

“We are going to have a minute of silence in honour of the late Barnabss Mushunje who died in a car accident after playing in the tournament up to the semi-finals “, ZIFA Northern Region secretary-grneral Sweeney Mushonga revealed before the match.
