Faith Chimbambo lifts NAMA Golf Day accolade

Faith Chimbambo came first in the NAMA Golf Day third edition at Royal Harare Golf Club on Friday in the pink October, the month that the commemorations of breast cancer awareness are held and it was symbolic for a woman to lift the prize.

126 golfers battled it out in the third edition of the NAMA Golf Day as golfers from different corporates and golfers in the arts industry had a time to showcase their skills.


NAMA Golf Day director Napoleon Nyanhi was left an elated man after the successful event. “I am excited that the NAMA Golf Day has now became a prominent annual national sporting and arts calendar”, he said.

” We are very excited as NAMA, NACZ and Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation that in this editoon of the Golf Day we have a female winner.. We have a lady who has lifted the ultimate trophy of the Golf Day.”, Nyanhi said.

” Today we had 126 players on the course and out of the 126 players, Faith Chimbambo who is the winner for this year lifted the trophy as she did the best. We are excited that it was in the pink October in the month that we are commemorating breast cancer awareness so it is also symbolic that a woman lifted the prize”, he added.

He thanked the Government of Zimbabwe through through the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ), corporate world who sponsored the event, artists who turned up and the 126 players who played at the event. Actor Stephen Chigorimbo was also around.

Faith Chimbambo thanked the sponsors . “I would like to thank the sponsors for the day. I don’t have a golfing secret. I just do what Tiger Woods does”, she said.

The 21st edition of the NAMA (National Arts Merit Awards)awards will be held on the 25th of February 2023 on a Saturday. The official theme is “Unlocking dreams”.
