Norther Region Soccer League (NRSL) has unveiled Axis Solutions Super 8 Cup nominees ahead of the final match between Simba Bhora and Golden Eagles at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
After the final match, individuals will walk away with prizes for being outstanding in various categories with Simba Bhora and Golden Eagles having a large number of nominees selected.
Selected nominees are for the coach of the tournament, goalkeeper of the tournament, top goal scorer of the tournament, man of the match and player of the tournament categories.
Simba Bhora coach Arthur Tutani and Golden Eagles coach Gilbert Mushangazhike are the coach of the tournament nominees. Goal keeper of the tournament nominees are Simba Bhora’s Lee Madzore, Golden Eagles’ Lloyd Madyarira and Herentals Under 20’s Simbarashe Chapwanya.
Simba Bhora’s Tinashe Balakasi is on the pole position of the top goal scorer nominees with two goals. Golden Eagle trio Trevor Bhunu, Raymond Uchena with one goal and No more Tsabora with one goal are the other nominees.
Man of the match nominees are the late Simba Bhora’s Barnabas Mushunje with two man of the match awards, Golden Eagles’ Henry Manatsa with one man of the match award, Trojan Stars’ Dunga Muchapuya with one man of the match award , Golden Eagles’ Tatenda Hapazari with one man of the match award and Herentals Under 20’s Simba Chipwanya with one man of the match award.
Nominees for player of the tournament award are Simba Bhora’ duo Tinashe Balakasi and the late Barnabas Mushunje, Golden Eagles duo Henry Manatsa and Tatenda Hapazari.
Tinashe Balakasi, Simba Chipwanya, the late Simbarashe Chapwanya and Tatenda Hapazari, all have two nominations.
Golden Eagle has nine nominations, Simba Bhora has 6 nominations, Herentals Under 20 has two nominations and Trojan FC has one nomination.
Coach of the tournament takes home US$400, goal keeper of the tournament walks away with US$300, top goal scorer of the tournament pockets US$300 and player of the tournament reward is US$500. For the past 7 games player of the tournament collected US$100 in each games.
If the late Barnabas Mushunje wins in the man of the match overall , then he would be crowned posthumously as he has two man of the match awards he got in the quarter-final and semi-final.
He died in a car accident on June 8 after having played up to the semi-final of the Axis Solutions Super 8 Cup.
