Noah Dzvokora lifted the Marume Classic title after shrugging off stiff competition in a scintillating show at Zimbabwe College of Music on Saturday night.
Noah Dzvokora won against Aaron Musarurwa, Darlington Mukanwa and former title holder Nunurai Masosonere who were in the top four. Murmurs were heard as people disagreed with the judges decision in This showed that a neck to neck contest in this senior men Bodybuilding category.
Former title holder Nunurai Masosonere came fourth, Aaron Musarurwa came second whilst Darlington Mukanwa was third in the category.
31- year-old Chitungwiza based Noah Dzvokora was left elated after winning.” I am grateful abiutbwinking the tournament”, he said. He trains with Oxygen Gym at Joins City in Harare.
Aaron Musarurwa came second in the Senior Men Bodybuilding and first in the junior men Bodybuilding. The 22-year old athlete trains at Oxygen Gym. “It was exciting , it was obvious to the juniors that I was the champion and then came second in the seniors which is a nice position” , he said. “It is about confidence and having patience in what you do”, he revealed.
The Givemore Marume Classic is an annual fitness competition hosted and named after Givemore Marume a four-time Mr Zimbabwe and six times Mr Ironman.
Givemore Marume praised the athletes who participated and the sponsors who made the event possible and a success. He said he was really impressed by the turnout of the athletes.
“I am very excited by the turn it especially after Covid-19 pandemic which made a 2 year break in many activities”, he said.
“Bodybuilding is a sport that takes care of our health. It can be physical health, mental health or our well-being” , he said urging others to join the sport.
All athletes who participated were given medals and the first spot had a trophy and $300USD, second had $200USD and with the third having $100USD. Ladies also received a water bottle, Whey protein supplements, Creatine supplements.
The main sponsor was Saltrama Plastics whilst other sponsors were Musabvunde Apparel, Premier Guest Lodge, Dabuka Village, Diamond Pharmacy and also Trysupps chipped in with supplements for prizes.
