Zim’s Mandala Mpofu appointed Masitaoka head coach

Mandla Mpofu was the Zimbabwe National Team Assistant at the AFCON in Cameroon 2021

Botswana Premier League out-fit Masitaoka FC has roped in the services of Mandla Mpofu, a Zimbabwean coach who has coached in his native country’s top flight league.

In a press statement, Masitaoka FC announced the appointment of Mandla Mpofu as the club’s new Head Coach ahead of the new season with immediate effect.Z

Zimbabwean- born mentor joins the club on a one-year contract with option to extend.

Mandla Mpofu has more than 20 years of experience as he served in different club’s in different roles.

His portfolio includes Youth Coach at RailStars FC, Assistant and Head Coach at Chicken Inn FC, Head Coach at Bulawayo City FC and Head Coach at Highlanders FC where he first assisted as an Assistant to Madinda Ndlovu.

Mpofu who holds a CAF Coaching License also represented Zimbabwean at National level as the Head Coach of Under 20, Assistant Coach of Under 23 for the Olympics Qualifier and the Senior Team Assistant at the 2021 AFCON tournament in Cameroon.

Masitaoka FC executive chairman Godfrey Rathaga commenting on the appointment said, “We are delighted to welcome coach Mpofu to Majatlhaga to take up this important role in our Technical Team. He has an impressive CV and his track record speaks for itself, he brings a massive football experience and ideas that we believe are necessary for the future of this club”.

Majatlhaga is the nickname of Masitaoka FC. The club has also other two nicknames Makaka and up the Blues.
