PSL warns referees not to cause mayhem in football

Castle Premier Soccer League has called upon Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) Referees Association to weed out incompetent referees.

This comes after referee Kuzivakwamwari Jaravaza called for a penalty in the 82nd minute after Highlanders Peter Muduhwa infringed FC Platinum’s Walter Musona on Saturday at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane.

The match was abandoned after Highlanders supporters invaded the pitch in protest of the refree’s decision.

The Law 14 Penalty Kick in football says a penalty kick is awarded if a player commits a direct free kick offence inside their penalty area or off the field as part of play as outlined in Laws 12 and 13.

PSL issued a press release warning bad elements in the game of soccer as this has repercussions
