The re-imagined 2022 OK Grand Challenge Promotion launched on Friday in the Capital city promises to be bigger and better.
OK Zimbabwe chief executive officer, Max Karombo speaking at the launch said the promotion has evolved to become a Zimbabwean asset which every shopper looks forward to annually.
The entries to the promotion will be on digital platforms as the last edition held in 2021 was the first totally digital event without any physical entry coupons as OK Zimbabwe embraced the digital era expedited by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as technological advancements.
The 33 edition of the OK Grand Challenge Promotion has 47 participating suppliers with 47 cars to be won and there is an increase compared to the last edition which had 32 participating suppliers and 32 cars were up for the grabs.
“We are excited to launch the the 2022 OK Grand Challenge. The theme for this year is “Race 2 Happiness (#Race to Happiness) which is a direct link between the iconic horse race and our re-imagined vision. We aim to create theatres of happiness, by planting smiles on our customers, suppliers, shareholders employers and ultimately the community we operate in” said Max Karombo.
The promotion is 34- year-old and is on its 33 edition as one year was missed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The promotion will run from April to June 2022 in all OK stores nationwide. This year the entry mechanics for the promotion have been re-imagined to make it easier for the regular shopper to register and enter in the “Race 2 Happiness”, OK Grand Challenge Promotion.

Customers will be required to fully register by providing their name, mobile number and ID number. To make the process simpler for the customers there would be various registration channels namely WhatsApp, OKGC website and the Promotion Mobile Application. For one to qualify for any of the draws they have to be fully registered.
Shoppers will be treated to weekly draws, suppliers’ draws Shop Easy draw and the Grand Prize draw. Prizes I Clyde weekly grocery vouchers as well as Nissan NP200s plus the Grand Prize of a double cab Ford Ranger.
“I thank you all very much for coming through and I just want to remind everyone that we have gone to technology so for customers to be able to race to happiness they need to be registered”, said Phil Mushosho OK Zimbabwe chief finance officer.
“They are various platforms that customers can use to register, there is USSD code for those not using Android or iOS version cell phones, mobile apps, website and WhatsApp. As one buys, the cell number will be asked at the till and points will be able to be accumulated”, he added in the vote of thanks remarks.
