The adage necessity is the mother of invention aptly depicts Novice Zimbabwe Body Building and Fitness Championships which were launched on Saturday in the Capital.
This year’s edtion of Trysupps Fitness Academy Novice is to be showcased at Zimbabwe College of Music in the Capital on 26 March sponsored by Trysupps Fitness Academy whose director Ryan Gumbo saw it fit to award winners with nutritions to start their competitive journey in body building and fitness as athletes.
National Federation of Zimbabwe Body Builders and Fitness (NFZBBF) secretary general Quiet Shangai said at the launch that Novice Championships is meant to develop athletes in body building and fitness.
” We’re more concerned with one who is able to learn and be the future champion”, he said.
” A number of guys have become big names in the discpline after having competed in Novice Zimbabwe show”, he added.
Trysupps Fitness Academy director Ryan Gumbo felt humbled by sponsoring the event where nutritions are to be awarded to the winners.
” The competiton teaches starters to be confident in competitions”, he said.
“It is much difficult to begin a journey without machinery for preparation and supplements are very important to upcoming atheletes hence I sponsored the winners with nutritions for Novice 2022 show”, he added.
Although supplements are important to body-builders and fitness athletes, they are so costful to get. Ryan Gumbo who at one time competed in Novice Zimbabwe in 2016 and came second said he was now into selling supplements rich in proteins to not only body builders but for those who need healthy lifestyle.
Some of his products which are rich in protein are Hyperbokic Mass Gainer, Colossal Mass Gainer and Anabodic Fast Grow supplements for body builders and Nitrobolic Whey, Hardcore Whey and Extreme Whey to mention but a few supplements for those who need healthy lifestyle.

Innocent Dzikiti, a 36-year-old body builder is confident to clinch the Novice 2022 title.” Body building is a sport I grew up watching before thinking about lifting the weights”, he said on the sidelines of the launch.
He said he trains usually six days after work. He trains at Dzivarasekwa’s Just Pool gym and also Pro fitness gym in the Coventry industrial area.
” The most difficult part in body building is dieting where one is confined to drinking water and boiled food which is expensive”, he revealed.
He is looking forward to take body building to the next level in future.
Nunurai Masomere who won Novice in 2012 in an interview applauded Novice challenge as a good stage for upcoming body building athletes.
” I won Iron Man in 2016 after winning Novice and this depicts that Novice is a must for starters as I went on to win other prestigious tournaments like Manicaland Classic which he came first and Harare Classic where he came 2nd in 2020.
Tinashe Gandari who won Novice in 2010 commended the show. He urged body building and fitness athletes to study the displine theoretically and have livelihood as certified fitness trainers.
He is now a certified trainer after having competed in some championships and also to couses on body building and fitness as a profession.
“It doesn’t really mean once you learn about body building, you will be competing the rest of your life”, he said.
