Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MoPSE) has set the opening dates of Form 1 to be 14 February and will continue to support schools with Personal Protective Equipments (PPEs).
This was revealed at a present conference on Friday in the Capital .
“2022 cohort of Form 1 learners are expected to start classes on 14 February 2022.This is pursuant to the release of Grade 7 results for 2021”, said the Ministry.
“Parents or guardians who had indicated their wish to enrol their children for Form 1 2022 should with effect from 7 February constantly check their application status of their children on EMAP”, said MoPSE spokesperson Taonana Ndoro on behalf of Dr Evelyn Ndlovu .The heads will communicate with parents once their children are selected.

“Similarly, the enrolment for 2022 Form 1 day scholars will be done during the same period of 7 to 7 to 11 February”, he said.
He also said the govt will continue to support schools with the provision of basic PPES in a bid to enhance prevention of and management of the spread of Covid-19 pandemic not only in schools but also amongst it’s citizens and the nation.
“In light of this all eligible 16-17 year old learners are urged to join the nation’s efforts to continue fighting the pandemic through taking advantage of government’s free vaccination programme”, he added.
The Minster also advised that the wearing of face masks, handwashing as well as physical distancing are a must in the fight against Covid-19 at all school centres to ensure a safe learning environment for our learners as well as uninterrupted and accelerated implementation of teaching and learning activities.
