Harare Athletic Board halts January events and courses.

January athletic calendar has been affected by the Covid-19 lockdown as Harare Athletic Board regrettably informed its stakeholders that all events and courses scheduled for the month of January has been suspended.
In a notice, HAZ Chairperson Cousinet Simunyu said in response to the Government directive to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in reference to No.2 Amendment Order, 202 published in the Statutory instrument 10 of 2021;(National Lockdown), they have temporarily closed their operations.
“In light of these current exigent circumstances our operations will be temporarily closed”, said Simunyu in a notice.
HAB also urged its members to strictly adhere to Covid-19 prevention measures, mask up,sanitize and practise social distancing. They recommended avoidance of physical contact and staying at home.
January athletic events scheduled for the month of January countrywide affected are, HAB Cross Country on 16 January in Harare, Bulawayo Athletic Board(BAB) Cross Country on 16 January in Bulawayo, Mutare Athletic Board(MAB) Cross Country in Mutare and Mr PACE Cross Country on 31 January in Harare.
