The local based players preparing for the CHAN competitions took a break from camp on Sunday up to the 27th, for the tourney that was postponed to between January 16 and February 7, 2021 in Cameroon.
In an interview with the media after a friendly game against PSL out fit Herantals in which the national team was edged 1-0, Zdravko Logarusic said the FC Platinum players had been denied to come for assessment at the Warriors camp so they will not be on the final 23 players list to be announced when the Warriors regroup for camp.
“Let them focus on their Champions league matches and I wish them the best”, he said
The national football team boss had given a directive that some FC Platinum players should report for assessment from Thursday to Sunday before they join their club mates for their first round first match of the CAF Champions league against Simba Stars of Tanzania on Wednesday.
An insider revealed that Logarusic and Norman Mapeza FC Platinum coach seems to be at loggerheads after the latter did not greet the former at one of the national team’s friendly matches.
Logarusic saw Mapeza as trying to belittle him as national coach by not greeting him whilst Mapeza is said to have been with other thoughts that respect was accorded to a person without that person looking forward to it very much said the insider.
Logarusic speaking on the tourney said they will try their best after the players had up to 9-10 months without playing football.
“It is very hard to select someone who has not been playing football for the last ten months”, he said.
