Hopley residents receive water to mark World Toilet Day

Hit bay Sanitation partnered Ecosure, Goal Zimbabwe and Promobile  in conjunction with Ministry of Health and Child Welfare(MOHCW) and UNICEF to raise awareness on hygiene and World Toilet Day Harare Thursday.


Residents in Hopley  Harare South, were showcased to  20 mobile toilets. They also used  mobile hand wash systems before receiving a bathing soap to bring about the idea of hygiene.
On the sanitation aspect, 10 000 litres of water were donated whilst Adlife the water supplier added 5 000 litres.
Hit bay Director Dylord Mutamuko said as a commercial enterprise in hygiene industry , they saw it fit to engage a marginalized  community in commemorating the World Toilet Day.
“We have come to provide services for a short time as the residents are being taught on the rules and guidelines of the Covid-19 pandemic in line  with WHO”, he said.
“Water was provided as the community lacks water for them to see the importance of sanitation”, he added.
Youth Assertive Action a  youth pressure in Harare South District said they were happy to celebrate the World Toilet Day with such big partners.
“We as  an organisation are advocating for   more  safe  clean water spots  in the area by 2023”.
