
In a bid to have a quick return to the PSL, Hwange FC has already appointed new executive committee members for the year 2020 .
Hwange FC used to be a nemesis to the PSL traditional giants but was relagated to the Division One League in 2017.They played the 2018 season in Division One before gaining entry to the PSL for the 2019 season.
However, they were relagated last season as they lacked backbone to stay in the league.
The Chairman Dr Deredzai, who is HCCL’s Acting Medical Services Manager replaces Butholezule Dube who is the outgoing Chairman.
Enoch Ngwenya has been appointed the Vice Chairman in the seven member executive.
Lovemore Dube has been retained as the Treasurer with Thabani Ndlovhu,
Journalist Tobias Mandoreba and former Hwange players Shimani Mathe and Mailos Phiri completing the set up as committee members.
The executive committee members were appointed by the Club president, Acting Managing Director of Hwange Colliery Company Limited (HCCL).
In a statement to the media Rugare Dhobbie, HCCL’s Corporate Affairs Manager elaborated that the team management is confident of a quick return to the PSL next year.”Plans are underway to recruit a new technical bench as well as recruit young players who will work hard to return the team to the league”.
Journalist Tobias Mandoreba who writes for The Herald and The Chronicle said he was humbled by the appointment.
He said this speaking to SportWay, “It’s gratifying and humbling to be coopted in the Hwange FC’s structures.It is my hope that I can also play my part and help them team to gain promotion back to the top-flight league as soon as possible as it is where it belongs”.
