Soccer players clean the city

It was a hive of activity in Harare at Charge Office bus terminus and the vicinity as male and female soccer players from Harare City Clubs on Monday morning traded the soccer boots with brooms as they engaged in a clean- up exercise.
Harare City football club in the top flight league, the division one side and their female counterparts the Harare City Queens trooped at Charge Office bus terminus to clean- up the place and surrounding places.
The morale was high as the players together with their administrators cleaned the bus terminus .The event is held annually and it is part of the social responsibility by the sport department at Harare City Council (HCC).
Harare City Fc chief executive Tafadzwa Bhasera at the clean -up exercise commended the deed.”As a club we should have the same aim with our sponsors of living in a clean environment. Cleanliness is next to godliness so, I urge other corporates to engage in this exercise as part of their social responsibility”, she said in an interview.
Harare City Fc captain William Manondo said the clean up campaign is helpful even to other players as it teaches one to be hygienic.”The exercise creates awareness on cleanliness on an individual level as dirty hasn’t always been good”, he said.
Harare City Queens capatian Nyasha Sowavhira said as sunshine girls, they were elated to be cleaning .”We are here to help the government for us to have a clean city”, she said.
Harare City Queens Coach Annie Konje said cleaning at Charge Office bus terminus was good as it was a place that many people usually flock.
