3 week – long ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors ended with hosts having the better of the tour at Harare Sports Club Zimbabwe ,on Friday.
Zimbabwe’s , Thabo Ncube and Vimbai Heidi Moyo came first in the boys doubles and runner-up in the girls doubles for the top spots of the country respectively.

“Administratively, we were perfect but technically we withered here and there”, said the tournament director Mr Cliff Nhokwara.
“We hosted the tour expectating our players to get world rankings and Ncube and Moyo have made us achieve the goal”, he added.
He is not dismayed by the dwindling participation in tennis by Zimbabweans.
“Sport is usually the main casualty in an economic meltdown. People do away with sport for other necessities”, said Mr Nhokwara who is also at Tennis Zimbabwe.

18 years and under players in Grade 3&4 on the world rankings of the International Tennis Federation (ITF), squared it off in the singles and doubles matches of the boys and girls categories for the past 3 weeks.
Points gained during the tour are added on the world rankings.
