Fans were left fuming after the Castle Premier Soccer League tie between Caps United and Yadah as the refree showed incompetence by making a decision after more than 5 minutes of play at National Sports Stadium, Sunday
Although video assistant refereeing has made an impact in the modern football, Ruzive ‘s reversing of a goal scored by Yadah showed incompetence by our referees to officiate at regional and international level.
Whilst the assistant referee had flagged down for a throw-in for Caps United, a Yadah player was quick to take the throw–in as the inattentive referee let the play on. Yadah then scored and the controversial referee Ruzive Ruzive then whistled for a penalty.However the assistant referee then revealed that there should have been a throw-in for Caps United but was taken by Yadah.
Shadreck Shambare of Richwood Sports Club Harare had no kind words about Ruzive Ruzive.”That is the reason he does not make it on the regional and international arena.He is very complacent and do not honor the work of being a referee as an important task that pleases both spectators and the teams playing”.
“How can someone reverse a goal to a penalty and do not coordinate with his assistant referee such that he reverses a decision after more than 5 minutes of play”, he added.

In 2017 Dynamos compained to PSL over his poor officiating in a match against FC Platinum.The PSL confirmed Dembare’s complaint in a post on their Facebook page:Dynamos FC had written a letter of complaint against referee Ruzive Ruzive who handled their game against FC Platinum on Sunday in April 2017.In the letter the club bemoaned questionable officiating by Ruzive Ruzive who was also in charge of the ZNA Charities Shield semi-final match between Dynamos FC and Caps United FC.
He was quoted in Newsday of January 2018 as an irony ,“ZIMBABWE’S Referee of the Year Ruzive Ruzive has been overlooked for international assignments after the world football governing body Fifa announced the referees and assistants, who will be on the panel this year”,
