Prince Edward, Harare Copa champs

Prince Edward clinched the 2019 Harare Copa Coca-Cola championship winning it in a trot as the defending champions at Oriel Boys High Friday.


The football under 15 Harare provincial finals had 3 teams in 3 groups.Winner in each group and the best runner up squared off in the semi finals.
Prince Edward knocked Churchill 4-2 on penalties in the semi finals.
The final saw Mufakose 2 High lock-in horns against Prince Edward.
The final was tense as Mufakose 2 defended well while Prince Edward boys articulately passed each other.

Luke Musikiri of Prince Edward broke the deadlock in the second half with a shot in the eighteen area 26th minute.Each half was played for 20 minutes.

A wonderful header by Tinashe Chiropa made the scoreline 2-0 in favour of Prince Edward in the 28th minute.

In the 40 the minutes Tadiwa Masukuta scored from a free kick as Prince Edward lead 3-0.

Mufakose 2 High depicted sportsmanship as they did not foul Prince Edward players who had the highest ball position of about 73% against 37%.
Prince Edward coach was happy by the outcome and said he is already prepared for the national championships to be held in Kadoma mid July.
“We are prepared for the national finals as our boys already have passports”, said Pathias Mauto.
“Our boys have huge bodies due to training as we skipped the holidays and stayed at school training”, he added.
Top goalscorer, played of the tournament and goal keeper of the tournament were also selected.
Meanwhile in the girls under 15,bDzivarasekwa 2 High won the provincial finals.
Defending champions Vainona girls were beaten 6-0 in the group stages by Dzivarasekwa 2 High.
Vainona played with 10 girls after some of their players missed the vetting exercise as they we still at their school.
Tanyaradzwa Chihoro of Dzivarasekwa 2 scored 8 goals at the tourney.
