
Work without play makes John a dull boy and ZRP had a shot in the arm as Hammer and Tongues donated tracksuits for their hardwork and to boost morale ahead of the SARPCCO games in Angola this year on Tuesday.
The Southern African Regional Police Chiefs Cooperation sporting cooperations are scheduled for Angola later this year and are in he 10th year.
Hammer and Tongues CEO Mr Brian Makwavarara handed over the donation at a ceremony held at Morris Depot.In a speech , he elaborated that the good work done by the police force led for the donation to materialise.
” It is not good enough to turn around and say that we cannot assist because the economic environment is tough.Often when things are difficult we call upon the police and we should in return reciprocate”, he said.
The ZRP has won the games no less than 4 times and are currently holders of the trophy.
In a speech read on behalf of Commissioner General of Police Cde Godwin Matanga who was the guest of honour the police force showed pride in succeeding in sport as an institute or at individual level.
“Essentially, this act of goodwill by Hammer and Tongues comes at an opportune time when the organisation is preparing for the SARPCCO sporting competitions”, said the Commissioner General in a speech.
“Undoubtedly this donation will go a long way in boosting the morale of our athletes who are already in camp preparing to defend the SARPCCO trophy which is currently in our cabinet”, he added.
“Let me seize this opportunity to encourage the entire corporate to emulate this kind of gesture by Hammer and Tongues “, said the Commissioner General.
