The fundraising dinner to raise US$500k for Warrior Egypt Afcon dance had an overflow in a hotel in the Capital with executives from big corporates taking heed to the need of the former as funds poured in Wednesday.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa who was the guest of honour led by example as his scarf was aunctioned RTGS $250k to a government official and businessman Mr Kudakwashe Tagwirei.
ZIFA also auctioned jerseys and soccer balls signed by the President at lucrative prices.He emphasised the need for sport to be cherished as it steers peace and unity in the country.
More than US$ 200k RTGS$ 3 million was raised and will be accountable to the fundraising steering committee .
The benovolence portrayed by the corporate world resonates that the senior men’s national team is pivotal to the country like any other profession.
