Harare BMX Club will be the place to be as BMX National Championships roar into life with the hosts aiming to retain most of the medals on Saturday.

Hosts, Harare BMX Club will be aiming to retain most of the medals in individual agegroups .The club has current national champions with some competing in the BMX Works Champions scheduled for 21st to 26th July in Belgium.

Coach Andrew Mwanjali in an interview said his club has been training hard for the event.His team through Jayden Muzinda,Terry Shelton,Emmanuel Gore,Daniel Collect, Spencer Muchemwa, Benjamin Oberholzer and Joe Ruoko scooped gold medals in 7,8,9,11,12,13 and 16 yeas and above respectively last year.

“Girls have not been doing well.They race with boys in age groups one year down their age”, added the coach.

The annual event will have BMX athletes in under 6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13 and 16 years and above battling it out in individual age groups.

The organisers are appealing for sponsoship from the corporate world.
