Churchill trounce Milton High

Day 5 match between Churchill and Milton High of the 2019 Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival was scintillating as the former showcased marvelously their skills and strength in the Jubilee field at Prince Edward Thursday.

Milton High from the start of the game defended vigorously as Bulldogs failed to score after many consecutive attacks. Bulldogs forwards failed to crash out the Milton defence although their forwards were much muscular than their opponents.

Gift Chikwenhere broke the deadlock with a try for the Bulldogs in the 26th minute. Bulldogs but did not convert and went to the breather leading 5-0.

After the breather, Bulldogs scored as penalty. Although Milton was failing to reply, they were playing vigilantly. Milton later replied through Njabulo Ncube and the scoreline was 12-5 in favor of Bulldogs in the 25th minute of the 2nd half.

Nginidazshe Madongorere scored a try to seal Churchill victory. Churchill won 17-5 against Milton High.

Ishmael Bara of Churchill performed well whilst Kudakwashe Tendaupenyu  from Churchill was voted man of the match.

Jeff Madhaka, Bulldogs coach praised Milton for fighting till the end.”They came to play and defende well but the most important issue is that they won”, he said.

Japhet Ndebele, Milton coach was not disappointed by the results.”We had managed to contain them in the 1st half but they kept on pounding on us..My players sustained injuries and the fire went down”, he said.The coach who is with the team fro the 3rd time at the festival revealed that he lost 12 players from last year.” We are rebuilding, next year we will have the same team”, he added.
