Female referee for Dairibord by Dairibord Rugby fest

18- year old Cynthia Maungwa is refereeing at the 2019 Dairibord fest and she does it dutiful as she is a product of the rugby festival.

In 2015, shwe was palying at Zengeza 1 High, a naïve littlen girl playing the sport for entertainment.Due to exposure at the rugby festival, she was picked for the Under 18 girls national team.

“The Dairibord Schools Rugby Festival is a good platform to be scouted for the Under 18 national team that travels to South Africa fro the Craven week”, she said.

She also plays for Old Georgians at the club level.” I wanted to learn more about the sport, so I took the refereeing course”, she revealed.She started refereeing last year at the festival.”My aim is to prove that with rugby you can achieve a sustainable livelihood”, she said. Cynthia said ladies rugby is not being taken seriously in terms of opening avenues for the girl child to play in greener pastures.It is against this background that she sees herself scaling heights through refereeing rugby.

She advises the girl child even if the parents are not supportive to keep trying and do her best.She also rallied parents to trust their kids and support them.
