The tournament in its 3rd year had schools placed in 4 pools with 4 teams coming first in each group proceeding to the semi –finals. Although pool C and D had 5 teams, that did not deter competition.

Admiral Tait dismissed Chipindura 27-0, a team that had became a favorite at the festival. Chipindura edged Highlands 7-5 in the semi-finals.

In their group matches, Chipindura won 22-0 against Alex Park, beat Blakistone 7-0 and Borrowdale 19-14.Admiral in their group matches thrashed Moffat 17-0, Widdicome 20-0 and ZRP 27-5.In the semi-final their match against Gwinyai was forfeited.

The final was witnessed by many spectators anticipating Chipindura to lift the trophy. Chipindura at the start of the match failed to make an obvious try as heir player opted to go under the bars instead of using the corner.

Admiral Tait punished Chipindura by using the corners to make tries. Failure to score at first may have dampened Chipindura hopes of winning as they failed to make a comeback.

Tinotenda Maguta was voted player of the tournament.

9 year old Tinotenda Maguta of Admiral Tait was the player of the tournament and he pocketed 450 US courtesy of Anteeo School Supplies. Fatigue could have affected the Chipindura players as Admiral Tait played only first half in their semi final against Gwinyai before the match was abandoned .

Chipindura coach Mr Rester Munyimi blamed fatigue on the loss.”My players were tired in the final but their performance was better compared to last year”, he said.He hopes that next year they finish in a better position as he had fielded pupils mostly in Grade 4,5 and 6.
