In a bid for Zimbabwe to be a powerhouse as for the sport of rugby is concerned, Zimbabwe Rugby Union(ZRU), has created some administration posts to ease the way of doing business.

In a press statement after a press conference , ZRU hinted that it was imperative for the changes to be made that culminated from the numerous that transpired in the last couple of weeks.”We have come to the conclusion that some changes are necessary for us to deliver our primary mandate which is promoting the game of rugby and create a conducive environment for rugby to thrive”, read the press release.

The changes have been made to achieve , the prioritization of development and long term goals, instill discipline in all our communication structures, eliminate overlapping structures,immense efficiency communication and accountability and taking steps to avoid relegation in the Africa Gold Cup tournament.

Several posts were   created which saw  Vice president North Losson Mtongwiza spearheading the grassroots development programmes. This was done to maintain a place in the top tier for the Africa Gold Cup.Brendan Dawson will take charge of the Under 23 development academy to strengthen the a fore- mentioned Africa Gold Cup goal.

Vice president South and Sables Trust Martin Shone will now serve as Trustee. For strengthening the administration process within the ZRU, a substantive Sables Manager will be appointed within the next 30 days and will report directly to the CEO.

Mr Shingi Mpofu, a ZRU board member and former Sable will be the player representative will also employ an administrator for the Gold Cup Campaign.

Sables coach PDV  will have to find a local assistant coach for the remaining Africa Gold Cup fixtures against Namibia and Uganda.
